About FLIPWALK

FLIPWALK is an interval walking timer app. Alternating 3 minutes of fast walking and 3 minutes of slow walking lets you build a sustainable walking routine with shorter sessions than long-distance walking.

Requirements

  • iPhone running iOS 17 or later

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use it with the screen locked?

It depends on your setup. With Apple Watch or AirPods, phase changes reach you via Watch haptics or AirPods audio, so you can keep your iPhone in your pocket. With iPhone alone, audio still plays while locked, but vibration only works while the screen is on — hold your iPhone with the screen on to get both sound and vibration.

Can I use it with Apple Watch?

Yes. A session started on iPhone syncs to your Apple Watch and signals phase changes with a wrist tap. You can also do interval walking with Apple Watch alone, without carrying your iPhone. Session results sync to your iPhone history when finished.

Voice guidance is too quiet or doesn't play.

Check the volume on your iPhone or AirPods (you can adjust it with the volume buttons during a session). Audio plays even in silent mode. If you don't need the voice announcements, set the notification style to "Sound only" in Settings.

The step count or distance differs from Apple Health.

FLIPWALK shows values for the current session, while the Health app aggregates the entire day. The numbers differ because the windows differ.

Is my data uploaded to the cloud?

Your records (walking routes, health data, session history) are stored only on your iPhone and are never sent externally. Only anonymous usage statistics are sent to our analytics service (TelemetryDeck) to help improve the App. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Will my data carry over to a new iPhone?

Yes, via iCloud backup. Workouts written to HealthKit also sync via Apple Health.

The route on the map looks jagged or inaccurate.

GPS accuracy depends on your location (indoors, dense urban areas, tunnels). FLIPWALK records the route as iOS reports it; we do not modify it.

Can I change the duration of fast / slow phases?

The phase length is fixed at 3 minutes each, following the standard interval walking protocol. You can change the number of sets (1–20) on the Home screen.
